Can't believe it's been nearly 2 weeks since I last wrote a blog post! Time really has flown and there have been so many cakes between then and now! Last week was especially busy. I left teaching and thought that cake making and decorating would afford me a little more time to myself in the evenings. How wrong I was! With a 4 tier wedding cake, a 2 tier Christening cake, 4 sets of cupcakes, a Champagne bottle 30th birthday cake and a Fiat 500 to make last week I had a couple of 16 hour days! I must say, I do enjoy it more than planning and marking, though! This week is another busy one with Wolverine 2 to do, a merry go round Christening cake and a surprise cake which I'd better not say anything about all in the build up to the wonderful Waterloo Beer Festival. I've already made my boozy fruit cakes but will be developing my beer based cake range with Bier Head red velvets, Josephine Butler Elderflower ale and lemon cakes, some Honey Blonde and ginger cakes, probably some 24 Carat Gold carrot cakes and I'm not quite sure what else. If you're local and about over the bank holiday weekend, I really would recommend the Waterloo Festival held at old Christchurch. It's always a great do with wonderful beers, ciders, cheese, pies and cakes. Say hi if you do pop in.
